Order Management System (OMS)

Order Management Systems are designed to automate the workflow within an investment manager. Functionality may include portfolio modelling, compliance, order staging and broker connectivity via FIX protocol. Within larger asset managers an OMS would typically be integrated, usually using FIX protocol with an EMS which would be the main tool used by the traders, as opposed to portfolio managers and compliance personnel, who would mainly use the OMS functionality.
